Overview

Each public route now carries its own description, and canonical links, share tags, and structured data use the host that served the page. The production fallback is https://communityrule.info. Decorative images on the marketing pages are no longer announced, and every dialog close button is named Close.

The only sentence that shows on a page is the How it works banner: “Sketch your Rule in CommunityRule, then make it your community's own over five short meetings.” Browser tab titles change too. Layout and images stay the same.

Changes

  • Home, Templates, Create, How it works, and Cookies each have their own description. Home’s document title is “Build structure before you need it — CommunityRule.” About, Workshops, and Learn already had their own and were left as they were.
  • A template review page uses that template’s name in the title, for example “Consensus — CommunityRule,” with the template’s description.
  • The site-wide search action is removed. JSON-LD URLs, canonicals, and share images follow the request host. When no host is available, they fall back to communityrule.info. robots.txt on an indexable host advertises https://communityrule.info/sitemap.xml.
  • Header avatars, step numbers, quote portraits, facilitator photos, and case-study art have empty alt text because the name already sits beside the image. Organization logos still use the organization name. Card steps and the Learn steps are ordered lists with the number graphics hidden from assistive tech.
  • Dialog and alert close buttons are named Close. Overflow buttons stay “More options” and “More share options.”

How to Test

  1. Run the app and open /, /about, /workshops, /learn, /templates, /cookies, /how-it-works, and /use-cases/mutual-aid-colorado.
  2. Confirm each browser tab title is distinct, each page has its own meta description, canonicals use the current host, and the page source has no search action and no communityrule.com.
  3. Open /create/review-template/consensus and confirm the tab title is “Consensus — CommunityRule.”
  4. On Home, open Log in and confirm the close button’s accessible name is Close, then close it.
  5. On Home, About, Workshops, and Learn, confirm photos and the logo still look the same, and that a screen reader skips decorative portraits, avatars, and step numbers.

Notes

  • Descriptions come from the copy already on the pages. The approved route-titles file was not in the repo or in Documents, Desktop, Downloads, or .claude.
  • The rest of the How it works body still uses the older toolkit wording.
